Women's Basketball Makes Quick Trek To Rutgers Thursday

PRINCETON – The Princeton Tigers head back on the road for one final contest before almost a two week break on Thursday at the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.

How Did We Get Here?
•Princeton is 6-3 this season after taking down the Delaware Blue Hens, 62-47, on Sunday at Jadwin Gym.

•Princeton has caused 53 turnovers in the last two games, the most since it forced a combined 56 vs. Brown (Feb. 18, 2022) and Yale (Feb. 19, 2022) last season.

•Kaitlyn Chen paced the Princeton offense with 14 points while Julia Cunningham added 11 points in the win. Ellie Mitchell just missed a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds. The Tigers scored 31 points off 26 Blue Hens turnovers.

•Ellie Mitchell is third in the country in rebounds per game (12.7), sixth in offensive rebounds (4.6) and total rebounds (114) and ninth in defensive rebounds per contest (8.1). Her lowest rebound total in a game this season is seven against No. 16 Texas.

•Against Seton Hall, she became only the third person since 2009-10 to have at least 23 rebounds and six steals in a game (Javonna Layfield (Dayton), 12/31/17), Kylie Kuhns (Sacramento St., 12/1/10).

•Mitchell became the first player in the NCAA to record at least 12 rebounds and eight steals in a game this season at Maine.

•She is also only the 10th player since 2009-10 to have at least seven points, 12 rebounds, three assists and eight steals in a contest and the first since February of 2018.

•She has snagged at least 10 rebounds in 15 of her last 19 games dating back to last season.

•The junior is 10th in country in steals per game (3.33) and 15th in total steals (30). She's sits 38th in minutes per game (35.76).

•Kaitlyn Chen leads the team in scoring at 14.6 points per game and field goal percentage (44.8). She has scored in double figures in every game except for one.

•Chen is 75th in the nation in minutes per game (34.83) and 96th in helpers per contest (4.2).

•After scoring 31 points in 20 games last year, Paige Morton has registered 46 this season.

•Cunningham is currently 120 points shy of 1,000 for her career. At her 12.7 points/game pace, she'd reach that milestone on Jan. 21 at Dartmouth.

•Cunningham set a career high in free throws last year, going 60-of-68 (.882) in 30 games. She's already taken 42 shots from the charity stripe in eight contests this season.

•Stone has made at least one three in every game except for one and is shooting 42.9 percent from deep to pace the Tigers. That mark is 66th in the country.

•Chet Nweke is averaging 4.7 points per game which would nearly double her scoring output from last season.
