Men’s Basketball Clinches Spot in Ivy Tournament With 69-50 Win Over Brown

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Following a 69-50 victory over Brown University Friday night inside the Pizzitola Sports Center, the Princeton University men's basketball team clinched a spot in the Ivy League Tournament.
It will mark the fourth time the Tigers have clinched a spot in the Ivy League Tournament in its five years of existence.
Senior Drew Friberg tied for the game-high in points with 15, going 5-for-8 from the field, and 4-for-7 from beyond the arc. Junior Ryan Langborg also scored 15 points, shooting 6-for-12 from the field and 3-for-6 from three, while also pulling down six rebounds. Senior Jaelin Llewellyn added 13 points, eight rebounds, and five assists, and junior Tosan Evbuomwan finished with nine points, nine rebounds, and five assists.
The Tigers dominated the rebounding battle, grabbing 45 to the Bears' 35.
With the score knotted at 4-4 early, Langborg drained a three-pointer to put the Tigers in front, 7-4, with 14:11 on the clock. He knocked down another three-pointer at 12:08, giving the Tigers a 10-6 advantage.
An Evbuomwan layup with 8:15 left in the half sparked a 9-0 run, that gave Princeton a 26-12 advantage at 6:34 following a Llewellyn layup. Layups by Friberg and Langborg gave Princeton a 34-21 lead with 0:46 on the clock, and the Tigers would take a 34-24 lead into halftime.
Sparked by a Langborg layup, the Tigers opened the second half with a 7-0 run that saw them take a 41-24 advantage, following a Llewellyn three-pointer with 18:41 left to play. A three-pointer by Wright gave Princeton a 19-point lead, 49-30, with 15:22 on the clock, then back-to-back threes by senior Elijah Barnes and Langborg gave Princeton a 58-33 lead at 11:43.
Princeton takes on Yale University (15-9, 9-1) tomorrow night in New Haven, Connecticut, at 7 p.m.

Princeton continued to expand its lead, with a layup by Wright giving the Tigers a 65-43 lead with 4:06 left to play.
