Women’s Track and Field Sees Two Top-Three Finishes on Day One of Heps

Day 1 Results
NEW YORK – The Princeton University women's track and field team had a successful outing on day one of the Ivy League Indoor Championships. The Tigers secured two top-three finishes and had 11 athletes qualify for finals tomorrow.
Princeton currently sits in fifth place with 16 points.
Fiona Max finished second in the 3000 meters after recording a personal best time of 9:14.53, which ranks third all-time in school history. Max was followed by Abigail Loveys (9:31.12) in ninth and Lucca Fulkerson (9:41.83) in tenth.
Annika Kelly placed third in the weight throw with a toss of 19.01 meters, just two one-hundredths off her personal best. Meanwhile, Luisa Chantler Edmond (17.22 m) finished eighth and Siniru Iheoma (16.65 m) took 11th. Iheoma's mark is a new personal best, improving from her previous high of 15.94 meters.
Hanne Borstlap took fifth in the pole vault with a distance of 3.80 meters, followed by SJ Cohen (3.65 m) who tied for seventh overall.
In the long jump, Tia Rozario (5.54 m) was 11th and Casey Burton (5.05 m) 19th.
Grace Lanouette punched her ticket to the 60-meter finals, clocking in 7.66 seconds.
Three Tigers qualified for the 200-meter finals: Nia Mosby (24.58), Grace Lanouette (24.68), and Brianna Mponzi (25.02). Mosby's time was a personal record.
In the 400 meters, Arianna Smith advanced to the finals, running a personal best 55.79.
Paola Rodriguez qualified for the 500-meter final with a time of 1:15.24.
In the 1000 meters, Caroline Timm (2:50.42) secured the top spot in prelims. Timm will be joined by teammate Mena Scatchard (2:53.14) in the 1000-meter final.
The Tigers advanced three to the finals in the mile, including India Weir (4:54.39), Margaret Liebich (4:54.97) and Mari Noble (4:59.15).
