Season-Best Night From Three Powers Men’s Basketball Past Columbia, 85-63

NEW YORK – With assistance from a season-high 16 made three-pointers along with four double-digit scorers, the Princeton University men's basketball team overcame Columbia University, 85-63, Saturday night inside Levien Gymnasium.
The Tigers' 16 made three-pointers bested their previous season-high of 15, which they reached on two different occasions 2021-22.
Senior Ethan Wright led the way with 27 points on 10-for-19 shooting, including a 7-for-14 effort from behind the three-point line. Senior Drew Friberg added 17 points, four rebounds, and two assists, while junior Ryan Langborg finished with 13 points and six rebounds. Senior Jaelin Llewellyn also had 10 points, a game-high nine rebounds, and five assists, while junior Tosan Evbuomwan recorded seven points, a game-high 11 rebounds, and a game-high six assists.
Due to University COVID-19 protocols, Franklin C. Cappon-Edward C. Green '40 Head Coach Mitch Henderson did not coach the game. Ted Athanassiades '61 Associate Head Coach/Recruiting Coordinator Brett MacConnell served as acting head coach.
The Lions jumped out to an 8-0 start, but a Wright three-pointer with 16:09 on the clock sparked a 12-0 Tiger run, with nine of the points coming from Wright, giving Princeton a 12-8 advantage with 13:11 left in the half.
Princeton picked up where it left off in the first half; back-to-back Wright three-pointers saw Princeton take a 59-36 lead with 15:28 remaining. The Lions attempted to battle back, but a layup by senior Elijah Barnes kept Princeton in front, 63-42, with 12:46 left to play.

Friberg drained a three-pointer at 10:31 that led off a 9-0 run that saw the Tigers surge ahead 25-12, with 8:34 on the clock. Princeton extended its lead to 14, 28-14, following a Langborg three-pointer with 7:25 remaining in the half, then a layup by Langborg saw the Tigers take a 32-16 lead at 6:03. Princeton would maintain its advantage over the Lions for the remainder of the half, then with 00:59 remaining freshman Blake Peters would knock down the Tigers' season-high 16th three-pointer of the game.
