Softball Team to Close Spring Trip at UC Santa Barbara Tournament

Five games at UC Santa Barbara are ahead for the Princeton softball team Friday through Sunday as the spring trip to Southern California closes.

Adrienne Chang is leading the Tigers at the plate with a .360 average, and Chang hit the first home run of her career in Wednesday's second game at Loyola Marymount.
Princeton (1-8) and Sacred Heart (3-8) will meet for the first time since 1989, and the Pioneers have a 3-0 lead in the all-time series. It'll be the first time since 2002 that Princeton and Manhattan (0-7) have met, and the Tigers won the lone meeting 20 years ago. Princeton and South Dakota State (9-7) played three times early in the 2016 season, with Princeton winning two of the three.Â
Princeton and UCSBÂ (6-14) have never met, but Gauchos coach Brie Galicinao '02 is a Princeton alum who won four All-Ivy League honors, including three first-team selections, plus winning Ivy Pitcher and Player of the Year in 2001 and Pitcher of the Year in 2002.
The games will be the last before Princeton returns home to start the Ivy League season on March 19 against Brown.
