EIWA team finishes • Princeton took fifth as a team at the 2020 EIWA Championships, the last time the Tigers competed. Princeton's top finish in recent years has been third, achieved in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Those were Princeton's best finishes since winning the team title in 1978, the program's third team title along with 1911 and 1941.
On the lineup • Of the Princeton probable 10, six would be making their EIWA debuts, in Nick Kayal (So., 133), Danny Coles (Fr., 141), Blaine Bergey (Fr., 165), Nate Dugan (So., 174), Luke Stout (Fr., 197) and Matt Cover (So., HWT). The remaining four are returning for the third time, including two-time champion Patrick Glory (Jr., 125), 2019 eighth-place finisher Marshall Keller (Jr., 149), 2019 third-place and 2020 runner-up Quincy Monday (Jr., 157), and 2019 and 2020 sixth-place finisher Travis Stefanik (Jr., 184).
Rank 'em • Four Princeton wrestlers were included in the latest NCAA coaches rankings, with Patrick Glory ranked No. 2 at 125, Quincy Monday No. 6 at 157, Travis Stefanik No. 25 at 184, and Luke Stout No. 19 at 197.
All-Ivy • With honors season beginning, six Tigers earned All-Ivy League recognition this year, with Patrick Glory (125) and Quincy Monday (157) as first-teamers, Travis Stefanik (184) and Luke Stout (197) as second-teamers, and Danny Coles (141) and Matt Cover (HWT) as honorable mentions.
On our way back • Three Tigers in the EIWA lineup were among the six Princetonians who qualified for the 2020 NCAA Championships, including Patrick Glory (125), Quincy Monday (157), and Travis Stefanik (184).
Individual champions • One current Tiger has won an EIWA individual title, with Patrick Glory (125) having won in each of his first two years, in 2019 and 2020. Princeton wrestlers won two EIWA titles each in 2019 and 2020. The last time Princeton wrestlers won more than two EIWA titles at the same meet was in 1938, when it won a three. The program record for EIWA titles in a year is four, in 1911. Princeton has won at least won EIWA individual title every year it has competed since 2016.
Multi-time champs • If Patrick Glory wins a third EIWA title, he would be the fifth Tiger to win three, along with Jacob Frantz (at 145 in 1911, 1912, 1913), Richard Harding (1937 at 118, 1938 at 126, 1940 and 121), Bob Eberle (at 128, in 1939, 1940 and 1941), and Matt Kolodzik (at 141 in 2017, at 149 in 2018 and 2020). No Tiger has completed the career sweep of four titles, which Glory would keep the possibility of doing if he wins this year.
Placewinners • Princeton had six placewinners in 2020 and eight each from 2017-19. Princeton also had eight in 1978 and a program-recrd nine in 1975.
Quite a resume • Since Chris Ayres took over the program ahead of the 2006-07 season, 18 Princeton wrestlers have earned a total of 38 NCAA Championship bids, all since 2010. The previous 18 NCAA qualifiers to the Ayres era came over a span of 30 years, twice the amount of time Ayres has been at the helm, and the previous 38 NCAA bids were earned over a period of 32 years. Ayres' tenure has seen 10 All-America honors, all since 2016, where the program's previous 10 All-America honors came over a span of 33 years.
