Baseball Voyages to Virginia for Games Against VCU and William & Mary
March 04, 2022 | Baseball
Princeton continues its season with a road trip through Virginia, starting this weekend with a visit to VCU on Saturday, March 5 (2 p.m.) and a jaunt to William and Mary on Sunday, March 6 (1 p.m.).
The Tigers are seeking their first win after a hard-fought four-game series against Purdue to open the season. Princeton's young group showed tremendous grit to tie the final two games in the ninth inning, but the Boilermakers staved off those comebacks with a walk-off RBI in the bottom of the ninth in each game.
At the plate, Princeton is led by Nadir Lewis, who posted a .500/.786/.611 slash line in the opening weekend with seven hits, three runs, two RBI, and a home run. On the mound, Jackson Emus will look to build on his impressive season debut where he tossed six frames with six strikeouts, one walk, and one earned run allowed.
In the opposite dugout, VCU enters the weekend at 2-5 following a pair of losses to #3 Ole Miss last weekend and a midweek loss to #24 Old Dominion. Princeton's matchup with the Rams will be available to stream with a subscription to ESPN+. Meanwhile, William and Mary comes in at 3-2 after a midweek loss to Virginia.
