No. 19 Women's Water Polo Falls To No. 9 Long Beach State

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The No. 19 Princeton women's water polo team dropped a 17-12 decision to the No. 9 Long Beach State Beach on Tuesday evening.
After the Beach opened the scoring, Princeton ran off three straight goals to take a 3-1 lead with 3:33 to go in the first quarter. The Beech registered four consecutive tallies, securing a 5-3 advantage after eight minutes. Princeton got within one in the second frame, but Long Beach scored five of the next six to take a 10-5 score into the break.
Head coach Derek Ellingson's squad closed the gap to four in the second half but couldn't get closer. Jovana Sekulic and Kayla Yelensky each contributed four goals in the loss.
Princeton travels to Irvine to take on Concordia tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. (1:30 p.m. PT).
