Tigers Set for Midweek Twinbill at Lehigh Wednesday

As the Ivy League race heads into its final league weekend, the Princeton softball team will head to Lehigh on Wednesday for a 3 p.m. non-league doubleheader.

The Tigers are 8-4 in the Ivy, 15-13 overall, and a game back of Harvard in the Ivy standings. Princeton is a half-game up on third-place Dartmouth, with Dartmouth having three games in hand with one fewer series played.
Princeton's .275 team batting average is an Ivy best, with Sophia Marsalo (.372), Adrienne Chang (.341), Lauren Sablone (.310) and Allison Ha (.305) all hitting over .300. Alexis Laudenslager (6-7 W-L, 2.79 ERA), Ali Blanchard (5-3, 2.89) and Molly Chambers (3-2, 4.35) have combined for 167 of the team's 185 innings in the circle on the season.
Lehigh enters at 16-12 overall and 7-0 in the Patriot League, coming off a weekend sweep of Holy Cross. Lehigh hits .297 as a team with Emily Cimino (.391), Jaelynn Chesson (.373), Carley Barjaktarovich (.341) and Karsen O'Rourke (.321) all hitting over .300. Gabriella Nori (7-6, 3.06) and Katelyn Young (8-5, 5.04) have combined to throw 145 of the team's 177 innings.
Nori is the younger sister of former Princeton pitcher Erica Nori '17, and Princeton coach Lisa Van Ackeren, Lehigh '09, will be facing her alma mater again.
Lehigh is among Princeton's most-played non-league opponents, with Wednesday's games as the 54th and 55th meetings all-time, behind only Rider (58) and Rutgers (56). The Mountain Hawks hold a 12-game win streak in the series since Princeton's last win in 2011.
