No. 4 Women's Open Rowing Takes On No. 3 Yale In New Haven Saturday
April 14, 2022 | Women's Rowing - Open
ESPN+ | National Poll
The last true dual race of the regular season is this weekend for the No. 4 ranked Princeton women's open rowing team, and it's a key Ivy race against No. 3 Yale in New Haven.
The two highest-ranked Ivy crews in this week's Pocock CRCA poll will meet on the Housatonic just under a month out from the Ivy League Championships, set to compete for the Eisenberg Cup for the 46th time. Named in honor of Carola B. Eisenberg, the first edition of the Eisenberg Cup was in 1975, and the all-time series stands at 34-11 in favor of the Tigers. Princeton has won the last 11 races between the two schools dating back to 2010
Tentative No. 4 Princeton at No. 3 Yale Schedule
8:45 a.m. – Second Varsity Four
9:00 a.m. – Varsity Four
9:15 a.m. – Second Varsity Eight
9:30 a.m. – Varsity Eight
9:45 a.m. – Third Varsity Eight
"We are excited to renew the competition for the Eisenberg Cup," said head coach Lori Dauphiny. "It is one of the oldest traditional cup races in our league. We continue to learn with each opportunity we have and it is hard to believe we are half way through the season already!"
The Tigers enter the weekend undefeated in 2022, beating all six crews it has lined up against -- including wins over Ivy rivals Brown, Radcliffe, and Cornell. Last weekend in Saratoga, Princeton retained the Class of 1975 Cup over the Crimson and Big Red before downing Wisconsin.
Yale is also undefeated, defeating 17 different crews this season. The Bulldogs were also in Saratoga last weekend, picking up wins over Syracuse, Wisconsin, Cornell and Bucknell.
