Baseball Visits Dartmouth As Ivy Play Continues
April 15, 2022 | Baseball
Princeton, N.J. — Princeton will look to keep rolling after its first Ivy League series victory of the season as it hits the road for a series against Dartmouth this weekend.
The series will follow the Ivy League series format with a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, and the series finale following on Sunday, the 17th, at noon.
Princeton enters the matchup in good form after winning its series against Cornell. The Tigers are 4-21 and 2-7 in Ivy League play.
Nadir Lewis continued his run of dominance at the plate against the Big Red with five hits, seven RBI, and three runs scored in 12 at-bats. He leads the team with a .398 batting average and 29 RBI this season. Matt Scannell moved to second on the team with 22 RBI after driving in six against Cornell. He's Princeton's leading hitter in league play, batting .441 against Ancient Eight pitchers.
On the mound, Princeton will likely continue with its rotation of Jackson Emus, Tom Chmielewski, and Andrew D'Alessio this weekend. Emus and D'Alessio each earned their first wins of the season against Cornell. After striking out 10 across six innings pitched, Emus now ranks fourth among all Ivy League pitchers with 46 K's this season.
Dartmouth enters the weekend at an even 13-13 and 5-4 in conference play after taking two of three against Yale last weekend. All three games from this weekend's series can be streamed with a subscription to ESPN+.
