Softball Team to Host Penn as Ivy Chase Continues

Heading into the weekend with an Ivy-best 11 league wins, the Princeton softball team will host Penn for a three-game series this weekend at Princeton Softball Stadium at Strubing Field.

League teams have varying numbers of games remaining, but Harvard leads at 9-3 with Princeton next at 11-4 and Dartmouth third at 6-3. Princeton has six Ivy games remaining, with three at Columbia next weekend to close it out.Â
Princeton (19-13-1) is hitting an Ivy-best .289, led by Adrienne Chang (.388), who co-leads the Ivy with 38 hits, Lauren Sablone (.345), Sophia Marsalo (.340), Serena Starks (.327), and Allison Ha (.320), who stands 18th in the nation at .36 doubles per game. In the circle, Alexis Laudenslager (7-7 W-L, 2.50 ERA) and Ali Blanchard (8-3, 2.73) have combined to shoulder 155 of the team's 216 innings.
Penn (10-24) hits .255 as a team with Sarah Schneifer (.317) and Bella Fiorentino (.317) leading the way. Julia Longo (4-12, 6.22) and Payton Bean (3-8, 5.89) have combined for 136 of the team's 216 innings in the circle on the season.
Princeton leads the all-time series with Penn 65-32. Princeton took two of three in Philadelphia the last time the teams met, in 2019, while the Quakers swept three in the last visit to Princeton, in 2018.
