Heavies Seek Carnegie Cup Against No. 1 Yale and No. 11 Cornell Saturday

Derby, Conn. – The No. 9 Princeton heavyweight rowing squad heads to Derby, Conn. to battle the No. 1 Yale Bulldogs and No. 11 Cornell Big Red for the Carnegie Cup on Saturday.
"We're very excited to line up for the Carnegie Cup this weekend," said Princeton head coach Greg Hughes. "Both Yale and Cornell look to be strong on all levels and the racing will be fierce."
The Tigers dropped their first event of the season last week, falling to No. 5 Harvard in Cambridge. Princeton has secured victories over Georgetown, Drexel, Temple and Navy this year.
Yale has held the Carnegie Cup since 2014, a span of six races. Princeton has placed second in each of those contests, but holds the all-time series lead, 37-34 (Cornell)-27 (Yale). The Tigers last won the Carnegie Cup in 2013.
The Bulldogs has defeated Brown, Dartmouth, Penn and Columbia already this spring. In the fall, they won the Head of Housatonic and placed third at the Head of Charles. Cornell has lost to Harvard and Syracuse.
