DERBY, Conn. – The Princeton men's heavyweight team competed for the Carnegie Cup against No. 1 Yale and No. 11 Cornell on Saturday afternoon.

The Yale 1V crossed the finish line at 5:25.3 in front of Princeton (5:32.19) and Cornell (5:34.17), however the Bulldogs cut to the inside of a turn buoy and were disqualified.

"Yale was the fastest crew on the water today, just as they have been all year," said Princeton head coach Greg Hughes. "What happened on the course today was an honest mistake, and it's unfortunate that it impacted the results in the way it did. We know we have work to do if we want to close the gap heading into Sprints and IRAs, we look forward to another opportunity to compete with Yale in the coming weeks."

The Bulldogs' 2V8 (5:31.9), 3V8 (5:31.7), 4V8 (5:41.4) and 5V (5:43.6) collected wins as well.

Princeton welcomes Brown to Lake Carnegie next Saturday (Apr. 30) for a Content Cup battle.
