No. 20 Men’s Track and Field Sets New Ivy Record in 4x100 Meter Relay

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Princeton University men's track and field team continued their success from yesterday, setting a new Ivy League record in the 4x100 meter relay and a school record in the 200 meters.
The 4x100 meter relay team of Simang'aliso Ndhlovu, Ibrahim Ayorinde, Daniel Duncan and Greg Sholars set a new school record in the event, turning in a time of 39.36. It bests the previous record set by the University of Pennsylvania of 39.59 in 1975.
Ibrahim Ayorinde went 20.51 in the 200 meters, eclipsing Steve Morgan's '87 time of 20.69 set in 1986. Also competing in the event was Daniel Duncan, whose time of 20.55 places him second all-time in school history.
Christian Brown (14.10) secured sixth place in the 110-meter hurdles and Jovan Aigbekaen (14.69) finished 16th.
In the 400-meter hurdles, William Doyle placed sixth (53.81) and Chris Paige (54.20) took 11th.
Three Tigers placed in the 800-meter invite, including Sam Rodman (1:49.74) in 12th, Sam Ellis (1:52.29) in 19th and Ethan Reese (1:59.89) in 22nd.
C.J. Licata earned first place in the shot put with a throw of 19.41 meters. Meanwhile, Tyler Konopka (15.63 m) finished 15th.
Ilay Furman (14.23 m) was 18th in the triple jump.
Up next: In addition to participating in the Penn Relays from April 28th – April 30th, the Tigers will also compete in the TCNJ Invitational from April 29th – April 30th.
