"We're excited to head up to beautiful Saratoga Springs and take part in a great day of racing," said head coach Lori Dauphiny. "There's going to be action all day, the fans will have a worthwhile trip to Fish Creek. For the teams competing, it's about taking the next steps. We had a good debut two weeks ago at home, now it's time to see how we handle the road. The Class of 1975 Cup is always a spirited affair, and we're looking forward to testing ourselves against Ivy rivals in the morning. It's also beneficial to us to have to turn around and race again in the afternoon, so I am looking forward to seeing our team respond and compete for a second time as we prep for May."
For the Tigers, the Class of 1975 Cup between Princeton, Radcliffe and Cornell is a featured race. Presented by the first four oarswomen to row all four years at Princeton -- Maurya Meenan '74, Cate Huisman '75, Abby Rubenfeld '75, Janet Youngholm '75 and Carol Brown '75 -- the Class of 1975 Cup has been held since 1976. The Tigers have won 30 races, while Radcliffe has claimed 13 and Cornell has one victory. This will be the first race for the Class of 1975 Cup on neutral water, all 42 previous races have been on Lake Carnegie, Caygva Lake, or the Charles River.
Princeton has won six Class of 1975 Cup races in a row, and claimed 11 of the last 12 dating back to 2008. The last time the Class of 1975 Cup was on the line was in 2019 when the Tigers claimed a 12.4-second win over Radcliffe on Lake Carnegie.
