Iosivas, Guttormsen, & Ayorinde Named Men’s Track & Field Captains for ’22-23

PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior trio Andrei Iosivas, Simen Guttormsen, and Ibrahim Ayorinde have been named captains of the Princeton University men's track & field team, as announced by William M. Weaver Jr. '34 Head Coach Fred Samara.
Iosivas, the school record holder in the heptathlon, earned All-America honors in the event in 2022 after finishing fourth at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. At the NCAA Indoor Championships in 2022, he set a meet record in the 60-meter dash, going 6.71, and tied the NCAA heptathlon record. Iosivas is a two-time Ivy League Most Outstanding Field Performer, a three-time Ivy League Champion in the heptathlon, along with a three-time First Team All-Ivy League honoree in the heptathlon.
Guttormsen was also an All-American in 2022, finishing fourth in the pole vault at the NCAA Indoor Championships. He sits at No. 2 all-time on the Tigers' indoor and outdoor lists, and is a three-time Second Team All-Ivy League honoree, finishing as runner-up at Indoor Heps in 2022 and 2020, along with Outdoor Heps in 2022.
Ayorinde, a 2021 NCAA Regional Qualifier in the 200 meters, holds the indoor and outdoor program records in the 200, and is part of the school record-holding 4x100 meter relay team. Ayorinde was also Ivy League Champion in the 200 meters at Indoor Heps in 2022, collecting All-Ivy League honors in the event.
