27 From Men’s Track & Field Qualify for NCAA East Regional

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – 27 members of the Princeton University men's track and field team will compete in the NCAA East Regional from May 25th – May 28th at the Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex.
The Tigers' 27 qualifiers are the most of any program in the region.
Daniel Duncan and Ibrahim Ayorinde will both run in the 200 meters. Ayorinde (20.51) holds the school record in the event, while Daniel Duncan (20.55) ranks second all-time.
The two sprinters will join teammates Simang'aliso Ndhlovu and Greg Sholars on the 4x100 meter relay. With a time of 39.36, they sit atop the program leaderboard and rank 13th in the region.
Michael Phillippy (45.93) will race in the 400 meters, his program record time of 45.93 listed at No. 16 in the region.
Both Sam Rodman (1:47.25) and Kieran McDermott (1:49.07) will compete in the 800 meters. Rodman holds the program record in the event.
Sam Ellis received the nod in the 1,500 meters, his time of 3:39.54 ranking 11th in the region. Duncan Miller (3:42.33) will also be competing in the event.
Kevin Berry (13:37.21 | 28:55.31) will participate in both the 5,000 and 10,000 meters. Nicholas Bendtsen (13:44.81) will join Berry in the 5,000 meters, while Jakob Kintzele (28:55.91), Anthony Monte (28:56.38), Matt Grossman (28:56.68) and Josh Zelek (29:05.99) will compete alongside Berry in the 10,000 meters.
Ed Trippas (8:30.25) will represent Princeton in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, boasting the third best time in the nation.
The Ivy League Champion squad of Ladislav Topfer, William Doyle, Andersen Dimon and Michael Phillippy (3:07.61) will compete in the 4x400 meter relay.
After clearing 2.17 meters in the high jump, Jeffrey Hollis enters the competition with the 13th best mark in the region.
Brothers Sondre Guttormsen and Simen Guttormsen will compete in the pole vault, along with Will Drury. Sondre ranks No. 1 in the region with a distance of 5.75 meters, while Simen ranks No. 2 with a distance of 5.65 meters. Drury (5.21m) is listed at No. 29.
Aviram Shwarzbard earned a bid in the long jump with a leap of 7.85 meters, which ranks 13th in the region.
C.J. Licata will hurl in both the shot put (19.41m) and discus (56.95m), which ranks ninth and 24th in the nation respectively.
Robbie Otal (62.77m) gets the nod in the discus after posting a top-10 mark in the nation.
Chandler Ault will compete in the javelin, his 72.47 meter-heave landing him seventh overall in the region.
