Seggerman & Barki Advance to Round of 16 at NCAA Championships
May 24, 2022 | Men's Tennis
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – No. 32 Ryan Seggerman & Justin Barki of the No. 39 Princeton University men's tennis team continued their outstanding 2021-22 season Tuesday evening at the Khan Outdoor Tennis Complex, advancing to the Round of 16 at the NCAA Championships.
Taking on No. 26 Andres Martin and Marcus McDaniel of the Georgia Institute of Technology, 32nd-ranked Seggerman & Barki earned a hard-fought 6-2, 1-6, 10-7 victory.
"It was high quality doubles match," said Head Coach Billy Pate. "Both teams had spurts where they played very well. Ryan and Justin stayed confident and executed down the stretch to secure the match tiebreaker. I know Ryan was looking to make amends after his loss in singles yesterday so it's great to see this pair advance. They've had a great year and they certainly want to keep it going."
Seggerman & Barki will play in the Round of 16 tomorrow at 6 p.m. ET/5 p.m. CT against No. 4 Cleeve Harper and Richard Ciamarra of the University of Texas.
