BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Tigers closed out the NCAA East Regional on a high note, as 13 more members of the Princeton track and field team qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon. The orange and black also set a new Ivy League record in the 4x100 meter relay.
The foursome of Simang'aliso Ndhlovu, Ibrahim Ayorinde, Daniel Duncan and Greg Sholars set a new Ivy League record time of 39.14, good enough for fifth place in the event. It bested their previous Ivy record of 39.36, set at the Virginia Challenge in April.
The 4x400 meter relay team of Ladislav Töpfer, William Doyle, Andersen Dimon and Michael Phillippy followed suit, securing 10th place with a time of 3:06.19. That mark ranks second all-time in school history.
In the 400 meters, Michael Phillippy (46.10) placed 12th, earning the last qualifying slot.
