Fillier Named to Canada's Team for IIHF World Championship

Princeton rising junior Sarah Fillier is among Canada's 23 players selected as the team gets set to defend its IIHF World Championship later this month in Denmark.
Fillier, already more than halfway to Princeton's career records for assists and points, helped Canada to an Olympic gold medal last winter as well as the 2021 IIHF World Championship. Fillier was second among all players at the Olympic tournament with eight goals and sixth with 11 points.Â
A two-time All-America and two-time top-10 finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Award, the top award in women's college hockey, Fillier has 114 career points, with the program record at 218, and 70 assists, with the program record at 122.Â
Canada's group games against Finland, Switzerland, Japan and the U.S. will run Aug. 25-30, and the championship bracket will run Sept. 1-4.
