Early Goal Stands for Hofstra in 1-0 Win over Princeton
September 15, 2022 | Women's Soccer
A third-minute goal was it for Hofstra Thursday night against the Princeton women's soccer team, but the early goal stood up as the Pride defeated the Tigers 1-0 on Long Island.
Hofstra's Ellen Halseth blocked a clearing kick by Tiger keeper Tyler McCamey, and the unlucky bounce sent the ball back into Princeton's goal for what turned out to be the only goal of the game.
Princeton outshot Hofstra 17-7 overall and was even on shots on goal 6-6.Â
The Tigers will host Delaware Sunday at 7 p.m. on Sherrerd Field at Class of 1952 Stadium in the team's final game before Ivy League play begins Sept. 24.
