Matched up against 14 teams also ranked inside the USTFCCCA Top-30, the No. 21-ranked men's cross country team put together an 11th-place finish at the Cowboy Jamboree hosted by Oklahoma State.
The Tigers finished with 253 total points, paced by three finishers inside the top 50. BYU, ranked No. 4 in the country, was first with 75 points. In addition to BYU, the teams finishing ahead of Princeton included Stanford (No. 3 in the nation), Northern Arizona (No. 1), Oklahoma State (No. 2), Tulsa (No. 6), Wake Forest (No. 9), Colorado (No. 5), Syracuse (unranked), Air Force (No. 11), and Gonzaga (No. 16).
Princeton's result put them directly ahead of Texas (No. 29), Harvard (No. 15), Washington (No. 8), Ole Miss (No. 24), Utah Valley (unranked) and Furman (No. 23).
"We had a very good race to place 11th in a first-class field," said head coach Jason Vigilante. "Eight of the top-nine teams in the country were here, and a good amount of the overall Top-25 were in the mix. We're focused on improving each day over the next few weeks, I believe this could be one of the best teams we have ever had at Princeton."
Anthony Monte was the top finisher for Princeton, taking 25th individually with a time of 23:50.5 over the 8K course where the NCAA Championships will be held in November. Oklahoma State's Alex Maier defended his home course with a win in a time of 23:16.9.
Connor Nisbet was the second scorer for the Tigers, placing 33rd (23:57.3). Joshua Zelek was 51st (24:09.9), while Jarrett Kirk (24:17.9) was 66th and Matthew Farrell (24:28.1) was 81st to round out Princeton's scorers.
