Men's Soccer Falls To Vermont, 2-0

A pair of first-half goals were too much for Princeton to overcome in a 2-0 loss to Vermont in a battle of teams who had competed in the 2021 NCAA Tournament.

The Tigers conceded a pair of goals in the first half as Vermont twice capitalized on corner kicks.

The first goal off a restart for the Catamounts came in the 11th minute and was an own goal after an attempted Princeton clear clanged off a Tiger defender and in.

The Catamounts doubled their lead 12 minutes later again off a set piece. Joe Morrison sent a looping service off of the far post, and the rebound caromed to Borie Vermon who quickly sent it by Hadaway for a 2-0 lead 23 minutes into the match.

The Tigers had a 16-8 edge in shots, and a 6-2 edge in shots on goal in the game. Nathan Silveira made six saves for the Catamounts.

Harry Roberts had a team-high four shots for the Tigers, including two which landed on target.

The Tigers head to Happy Valley on Friday, taking on Penn State at 7 p.m.
