For the first time in 2022, Princeton's women's cross country team is set to compete as the Tigers head to Boston on Saturday for the annual HYP meet alongside Harvard and Yale. The starter's gun at Franklin Park is set to go off at 10:30 a.m.
The Tigers are defending champions of the race after a one-point win over Harvard on Princeton's home course in 2021. All five scorers for Princeton last year are back, including Fiona Max, Lucca Fulkerson, Abby Loveys, Angie Allen and Lexi Allen.
Fiona Max went on to finish second at Heps and sixth at NCAA Regionals en route to qualifying for the NCAA Championships last season. The Tigers return their top four scorers from Regionals last year -- Loveys, Allen and Fulkerson each finishing inside the Top-31 at Regionals.
"We are excited to put on the Princeton uniform and compete this weekend," said head coach Brad Hunt. "There is a lot of tradition in the HYP meet and we look forward to test ourselves right away on the start of our 2022 journey. We know the goal is to be peaking in November, but the first steps to that peak will take place at Franklin Park this weekend."
