
Men's Basketball Suffers Setback at Yale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Princeton University men's basketball team fell to Yale, 87-65, Saturday night inside the John J. Lee Amphitheatre.
Senior Tosan Evbuomwan led the Tigers with 15 points on 7-for-9 shooting and handed out a team-high six assists. Evbuomwan would also tie the team-high in rebounds with freshman Caden Pierce. Sophomore Blake Peters tied the team-high with 15 points on 5-for-8 shooting from three, with his 15 points and five made three-pointers tying career-highs. Senior Ryan Langborg also scored 10 points on 4-for-9 shooting from the field.
Ignited by an Evbuomwan layup with 18:18 on the clock, the Tigers used a 7-0 run to take a 7-3 lead with 15:34 left in the half following a three-pointer by junior Matt Allocco. The Bulldogs bounced back, taking a 9-7 lead at 12:41, but back-to-back three-pointers by Langborg and Peters put the Tigers ahead, 13-9, with 11:54 remaining in the half.
Shortly after the Bulldogs began to feed off the home crowd, surging ahead 23-18 with 7:15 on the clock. Sparked by a junior Zach Martini layup at 6:35, a 6-0 Princeton run gave the Tigers a 24-23 lead after another Peters three-pointer with 4:51 left to play. The Tigers maintained their one-point edge, taking a 36-35 advantage into halftime.
Princeton and Yale traded baskets to begin the second half, until the Bulldogs took a 55-51 lead with 13:34 left to play. A powerful two-handed dunk by senior Keeshawn Kellman made it a 55-53 game with 13:25 on the clock, but Yale responded with a 15-0 run and took a 72-56 lead with 6:36 remaining.
The Tigers were unable to put a dent in the Bulldogs' lead for the remainder of the half, and the contest would end with a final score of 87-65.
