Tordin Earns Season's Third Ivy Player of the Week Honor

Princeton sophomore Pietra Tordin had both goals in Princeton's 2-0 win over Dartmouth on Saturday, and her efforts have netted her the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week award for the third time this season.
The goals, both of which came in the closing minutes of the first half, were Tordin's 11th and 12th of the season. Still with at least two games to go this season, Tordin is the first Tiger since 2018 (Mimi Asom '19) to score 12 goals in a season, and the single-season dozen is tied for the ninth-most goals in a season in program history.Â
The first goal at Dartmouth came with less than three minutes to go in the first half when Tordin's try in the run of play from the corner of the 18 met a Dartmouth arm, and Tordin nailed the subsequent penalty kick. As the final seconds of the half ticked away, Tordin headed in a serve into the box from Heather MacNab to put Princeton up 2-0.
The 12 goals are the most in the Ivy League this season, and along with Tordin's eight goals from her rookie season of 2022, Tordin's 20 goals put her in 14th place on the program's career goals list, still with two-plus seasons to go in her Tiger career.
