Women's Soccer Team to Host Michigan in NCAA First Round
November 06, 2023 | Women's Soccer
For the fourth time in the program's last eight competitive seasons, the Princeton women's soccer team will be at home to open the NCAA tournament. The Tigers received an at-large bid to the NCAAs and will open against Michigan at Roberts Stadium on Friday at 7 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased here and are $12 for the general public, $7 for children 12 and under, and $5 for Princeton University students. The first 200 Princeton University students are free at the gate.
Princeton is 9-2 all-time at home in the NCAA tournament and has won seven straight NCAA home games, including a 3-0 home record under Sean Driscoll. Princeton hosted Boston College in 2015, Monmouth in 2017 and Vermont in 2021 to open those NCAAs, and this weekend's game will be the first NCAA tournament game at the new Roberts Stadium, which opened midway through the 2022 season. The NCAA tournament bid is Princeton's 15th all-time.
Princeton has earned an at-large bid in its last two NCAA appearances, and the three at-large bids for Ivy programs match an all-time record. The Ivy also got four teams in the NCAAs in 1999 and 2001, and in securing multiple bids for the third straight year, it's the longest such streak for the league since doing so every year from 1998 through 2005.Â
The meeting with Michigan will be the first in the programs' history.Â
