Chen Scores 1,000th Career Point As Women's Basketball Rolls Over Vermont, 67-47

BURLINGTON, Vt. – Kaitlyn Chen registered her 1,000th point while Madison St. Rose scored 23 points as the Princeton Women's Basketball Team disposed of the Vermont Catamounts, 67-47, at Ryan Gym.
Princeton started the contest with 10 of the first 12 points before Vermont countered with eight of the next 10 to close the gap to two, 12-10, with 3:14 to go in the first quarter. The Tigers ran off an 8-1 sprint to jump ahead, 20-11, before settling with a five-point advantage, 20-15, after 10 minutes.
In front by three, 22-19, head coach Carla Berube's unit put up 10 straight points to force a Vermont timeout with 2:43 remaining in the first half (32-19). The Tigers eventually held a 37-22 lead at the break.
St. Rose scored 13 first half points as Princeton went 16-of-32 (50 percent) from the floor in the first 20 minutes.
The Tigers were never threatened in the second half, leading by as many as 27. Princeton outscored Vermont, 39-19, between the second and third stanzas. The signature moment came when Chen registered her 1,000th career point on this mid-range bucket …
The Tigers had three players in double figures with St. Rose, Chen and Skye Belker (11). Chen dished out five assists while Parker Hill grabbed seven caroms.
