Women's Basketball Uses 41 Bench Points In Win over Le Moyne, 66-55

SYRACUSE – Using 41 bench points, the Princeton Women's Basketball Team defeated the Le Moyne Dolphins, 66-55, at Ted Grant Gym on Sunday afternoon.
Ashley Chea led all scorers with 15 points after hitting five treys in 17 minutes off the bench. Mari Bickley had (eight) and Amelia Osgood (six) combined for 14 points as well while Katie Thiers grabbed a personal-high seven rebounds in the victory.
Following the first media timeout, Princeton ran off 12 straight points, corralling a 17-5 lead with 2:37 remaining in the first quarter. Le Moyne used a 7-2 push to end the quarter to cut the deficit to seven, 19-12.
Princeton held a double-digit lead in the second quarter and took a 33-23 advantage into halftime. 10 different players scored for the Tigers in the first 20 minutes.
Le Moyne began the second half with a 12-5 run to get the contest within one possession, 38-35, at the clock read 7:02. The Tigers ended the stanza with 11 of the final 13 points to take 50-39 lead as the fourth frame started.
Le Moyne never got within single digits again.
Thiers finished with a game-high +22 while Chea was a +19. Princeton had 20 assists on 26 baskets in the win.
Head coach Carla Berube's squad will end the non-conference portion of the schedule at 10-3 overall. The Tigers go back on the road next Saturday (Jan. 6) at Cornell. Tip is set for 2 p.m.
