Men's Tennis Falls Just Short at Penn State, 4-3
February 10, 2023 | Men's Tennis
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Princeton University men's tennis team fell just short to Penn State, 4-3, Friday afternoon at the Sarni Tennis center.
"It was a disappointing result for us today but credit to Penn State for playing incredibly well on their home courts," said Head Coach Billy Pate. "We battled hard, but failed to execute on big points. We must do a better job managing momentum and capitalizing on leads in sets and service games. This team is hungry and has a lot of resolve and we get another great opportunity at home this Sunday with a very strong NC State team."
In singles, Thomas Bosancic earned a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Sam Bossem at No. 4, while Ellis Short took down Stefan Simeunovic at No. 5, 6-4, 6-4. At No. 6, Filippos Astreinidis outlasted Malik Bhatnagar in an epic three-set battle, 6-7 (4-7), 6-2, 10-8.
