PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University men's tennis team will be in action next in University Park, Pennsylvania, at 4 p.m. on Friday, February 10, against Penn State before returning to Jadwin Gymnasium at 1 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, against NC State.
The Tigers are 2-4 on the season, and are coming off a weekend where they earned a 4-2 win over Southeastern Conference (SEC) opponent Vanderbilt on Saturday, February 4, in Nashville, Tennessee. It was the Tigers' second win of the season over a power five opponent, as Princeton also took down Ole Miss, 4-1, on Saturday, January 28, in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Penn State has a 7-1 record on the season, and is coming off a 6-1 win over Villanova on Sunday, February 5. In 2021-22, the Nittany Lions had a 13-14 record, along with a 3-6 record in Big Ten play.
The Wolfpack, who received votes in the last Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) team poll, are 3-3 in 2022-23, and fell, 4-0, to South Carolina in its most recent match on Wednesday, February 8. Prior to taking on Princeton, NC State hosts Michigan on Friday, February 10. Last season, the Wolfpack went 20-10 overall and a 6-6 in conference play before advancing to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
