Penn Rallies Past Wrestlers in Ivy Finale

Princeton will have its home finale Saturday when it hosts Lehigh in a 6 p.m. start. Tickets are available here, and the match will be streamed on ESPN+ in the U.S. and Stretch internationally.
The match started at 157 and with a 4-0 win from Penn's Anthony Artalona, No. 15 in the NCAA Coaches rankings, over Ty Whalen. Artalona had a first-period takedown and added an escape and the riding-time point over the final two periods to get the Quakers off to a 3-0 start.
Quincy Monday, No. 4 by the NCAA Coaches ranking, followed with a 3-1 win over Penn's Lucas Revano at 165, closing strong with a final-minute takedown after opening the scoring with a second-period escape and seeing Revano match that with an escape in the third.

Penn then had back-to-back wins to take a 9-3 lead, first from No. 19-ranked Nick Incontrera over Kole Mulhauser at 174, with Incontrera getting out to a 6-0 first-period lead on a takedown and a four-point near-fall on the way to a 7-0 win. Maximus Hale followed at 184 with a 4-0 win over Nate Dugan, starting the scoring with a first-period takedown and adding an escape in the second and the riding-time point.
Princeton evened the match at 9-9 with a second-period pin from No. 19-ranked Luke Stout at 197 against No. 30 Cole Urbas in the first of back-to-back matches featuring two NCAA Coaches-ranked wrestlers.

Heavyweight Travis Stefanik, No. 31 by the NCAA Coaches ranking, went multiple extra periods in defeating No. 27-ranked Ben Goldin in the second overtime, using a riding-time edge to win after the match was tied 2-2.

Patrick Glory, No. 2 in the nation, made it three straight Princeton wins by using four first-period takedowns to build a lead on Ryan Miller in an eventual 9-6 win at 125 to put Princeton ahead 15-9 in what was the Tigers' largest lead of the night.

Then came Penn's three straight wins to close the night and overtake the Princeton lead. No. 8-ranked Michael Colaiocco held off Anthony Clark 7-5 at 133 to pull the Quakers within 15-12, getting three takedowns over the first two periods. At 141, Carmen Ferrante had four takedowns on the way to an 11-2 major-decision win over Christopher Martino to put Penn ahead 16-15 heading into the final match of the night, at 149. Penn's Doug Zapf, ranked No. 12 in the nation, clinched the match for the Quakers with a 10-4 win. Zapf took the lead with a first-period takedown and was in front the rest of the way, getting four takedowns on the bout and two in the third period. Keller had all four of his points on escapes, with two of those in the third.
