Caden Pierce Earns Third Ivy Rookie of the Week Award

PRINCETON, N.J. – For the third time in 2022-23, freshman Caden Pierce of the Princeton University men's basketball team was honored as the Ivy Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
Along with honor being Pierce's third, it also marks the second-straight week a Tiger has been named Ivy League Rookie of the Week; on Monday, February 6, freshman Deven Austin received the award. Freshman Xaivian Lee was the first Tiger to earn Rookie of the Week honors, when he was tabbed on Monday, November 28.
In the Tigers' game in Hanover, New Hampshire, on Saturday, February 11, against Dartmouth, Pierce finished with 12 points, five rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks. Pierce's assists, steal and block totals were each career-highs, along with his three made three-point field goals.
On the season, Pierce is averaging 7.6 points per game and 6.5 rebounds which leads the team and ranks fifth in the Ivy League. Additionally, Pierce's 20 steals are a team-high and he has recorded four double-doubles in 2022-23.
Pierce and the Tigers are in action next on Friday, February 17 inside Jadwin Gymnasium at 7 p.m. against Brown (13-10, 6-4).
