February 18, 2023 | Men's Track and Field
Notre Dame, IN – The Princeton men's track and field team sent a small squad to Notre Dame, Indiana on Saturday, February 18th for the Alex Wilson invitational, but finished the day with some big results, including a new Ivy League Record Set in the 4000m Distance Medley Relay.
The team of Ethan Reese, William Doyle, Sam Rodman, and Duncan Miller finished the 4000m DMR in 9:23.27, finishing within the top-20 of the meet and setting a new Ivy League record.
The previous Ivy League Record also was set by Princeton in 2022, from Ethan Reese '23, Michael Phillippy '22, Sam Rodman '25, and Sam Ellis '22 finishing in 9:23.30.
Coach Jason Vigilante commented on Saturday's record performance, "We ran a very good race today, 9:23 is a fantastic time, and our young men should be proud. Although it won't qualify to the NCAA this year it's still fun to set an Ivy League record."
Princeton also had strong performances in the 800m and Mile Run at Notre Dame.
In the 800m, Connor Chen finished in 1:53.81 and Kieran Mcdermott shortly behind at 1:54.78.
The mile contained a trio of strong performances with three Tigers finishing within the Top 10.
Myles Hogan finished in 4:05.01, Cooper Austen in 4:07.04, and Joe Fast at 4:19.88.
More members of the Princeton track and field team will be back in action back in New Jersey on Sunday, February 19th for the Princeton Invitational Meet.
