Women’s Water Polo Earns Split at Loyola Marymount Invitational

Los Angeles, CA - The No. 11 Princeton Women's Water Polo team secured a split at the Loyola Marymount Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

No. 11 Princeton 13, No. 16 Loyola Marymount 10
LMU struck first in Saturday's match to score three goals and take the lead with Jovana Sekulic being the lone scorer for the Tigers.
Rachael Carver, Meera Burghardt, and Ava Houlahan each scored for Princeton to keep it within striking distance at the half, trailing 6-4.
Another evenly matched period was played by LMU and Princeton in the third. Once Princeton scored, LMU struck right back.
It was an evenly played third quarter with the Tigers closing the gap to one, 9-8, after tallies from Houlahan, Kaila Carroll, Shanna Davidson and Sekulic.
Princeton's defense allowed just one goal over the final eight minutes while producing five highlighted by a pair of tallies from Laura Larkin.
Lindsey Lucas made six saves in the victory.

The Bruins began the contest with four of the first five goals and led 4-1 at the end of the first half.
Despite a goal each from Kaila Carroll and Sekulic in the second half, a strong Bruins offense was able to outscore the Tigers to take the win 9-3.
Lucas had nine stops in the loss.
