Laudenslager 2-Hits Penn as Tigers Take Series Opener

Alexis Laudenslager struck out 10 and allowed just two hits over six-plus innings as the Princeton softball team opened up a three-game Ivy League series at Penn Friday with a 7-0 win.
The Tigers have won eight of their last nine overall and six of seven to open Ivy play. The series will resume Sunday for a 12:30 p.m. doubleheader after Saturday's expected rain.
Five of Princeton's seven runs came in the first inning, a frame that saw Princeton get four hits, a walk and a hit batter. Adrienne Chang and Cate Bade each had an RBI double, Abby Hornberger had a two-RBI single, and Grace Jackson brought home a run with a groundout.
The lead became 6-0 in the third when Lauren Sablone drew a bases-loaded walk after three base hits in front of her, and Allison Ha had the final run with a solo homer, tying her for the team lead on the season with three alongside Sophia Marsalo, that pushed the lead to 7-0 in the sixth.
A hit and a walk chased Laudenslager from the game two batters into the seventh inning, and Molly Chambers closed out the win with
