
Women's Squash Set for CSA Individual Championship Quarterfinals

Philadelphia , PA – Seven members of the Princeton women's squash team competed at the College Squash Association Individual Championships on Friday, March 3rd at the Arlen Specter U.S. Squash Center.
Within the Ramsay Cup division (named for Princeton coach and four-time individual champion Gail Ramsay) Andrea Toth fell to number four seeded Meagan Best, of Virginia 0-3 on the first day of competition. She will take on Malak Taha of Penn in the first, consolation match at 11:30 a.m on Saturday.
The First-Team, All-Ivy selection is a Richey Award finalist, which recognizes a senior women's squash player who has demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship during her entire college career.
Within the Holleran Cup North Division, two Tigers competed to represent the Tigers.
Caroline Spahr, seeded at number three, defeated No.14, Elizabeth Lentz of Columbia 3-0 to take a first round sweep. Spahr advanced to take on No. 6 seeded Whitney Taylor on Friday, taking another victory over No. 6 Whitney Taylor of Yale 3-0 (11-5, 11-5, 11-9).
Katherine Glaser, as the number nine seed, also swept her opponent, number eight seeded Moa Bonnemark of Drexel 3-0. Glaser dominated the match offensively, outscoring Bonnemark 33-13.
After advancing to the quarterfinals, she fell to No. 1 Moya Maria of Virginia 3-1 (9-11, 9-11, 11-8, 7-11) ending her championship run with a top-eight finish.
Within the Holleran Cup East Division, Olivia Robinson as the number seven seed took a four game victory over Tuft's Vharshamithraa Dinesh 3-1. Despite dropping the third game to Dinesh, Robinson won the first two games and game four to take a decisive 11-9 win in her fourth game to seal the win.
Robinson then advanced to take on No. 2 seeded Lina Tammam of Virginia, falling in a close five, game match 2-3 (6-11, 2-11, 11-5, 12-10, 6-11) to Tammam. Robinson fought back from being behind 0-2 to win two games straight to even the score 2-2. In game five she fell just short on game five 6-11 to finish her championship run with a top-eight finish.
Another pair of Tigers competed on Friday within the Holleran Cup South Divison. Liyen Teoh swept Eleanor Bailey of Hamilton 3-0. Teoh dominated her opponent, only dropping eight points through three games. After advancing to the quarterfinals, Teoh took another victory over No. 8 Emma Bartley of Drexel 3-1 (7-11, 11-9, 13-11, 11-8).
India Stephenson as the number six seed defeated number 11 Maria Clara Ramirez Velasquez of Denison University in a 3-0 sweep. Stephenson continued to compete in the quarterfinals and defeat No. 3 Emma Jinks of Virginia with a 3-2 victory (3-11, 11-7, 11-9, 9-11, 11-8).
The final Tiger to represent Princeton in the Holleran West Division is Charlotte Bell. Bell defeated Laila Selim of William Smith College 3-1. Only falling in the opening game, Bell won three games straight to take the 3-1 victory over Laila Selim.
In the quarterfinals, she fell to No. 5 Brecon Welch of Harvard in a fard fought, five game match, 2-3 (11-7, 11-3, 11-13, 12-14, 6-11.) She also ends her championship debut with an impressive, top-eight finish.
