No. 9 Heavies To Battle No. 6 Harvard For Compton Cup

PRINCETON – The No. 9 Men's Heavyweight Rowing Team welcomes the No. 6 Harvard Crimson to Lake Carnegie in battle for the Compton Cup on Saturday.
The Crimson have collected the last four Compton Cups with the last Princeton win coming in 2016. Harvard leads the all-time series, 66-16-1 (MIT) in an event that was first held in 1933.
Princeton has an impressive 2023 spring season, earning wins over No. 14 Penn, No. 15 Navy, No. 16 Drexel, No. 19 Columbia, No. 20 Temple and No. 22 Georgetown.
"Harvard has also had a solid start to their season and the racing will be fierce on all levels," said Princeton head coach Greg Hughes. "The team is excited to line up on Saturday and we will be working hard to get ready for the racing ahead."
Last week, the first varsity (5:29.9) picked up an 8.3-second decision (5:38.2) over Penn and Columbia earning the Childs Cup for the 11th straight race.
