Madison Curry, Jen Estes, Marissa Hart and Morgan Wiese have all been named captains for the Princeton women's soccer team's 2023 season, the program has announced ahead of its spring schedule beginning April 8 at Lehigh.
"We are excited to announce Madison Curry, Jen Estes, Marissa Hart, and Morgan Wiese as our captains for 2023," Princeton coach Sean Driscoll said. "Since their arrival on campus, each of them has had a significant impact on our program and played a pivotal role in the evolution of our team culture. These four talented student-athletes share an unabated passion for this game and representing Princeton. Their combined compassion, resilience, and grit will form the epicenter of a team that we believe possesses an abundance of potential this spring and next fall. We eagerly look forward to what the future holds with Madi, Jen, Marissa and Morgan leading the way."
All four captains helped Princeton to the second round of the 2021 NCAA tournament, finishing that year with a 15-3-1 record and earning an NCAA first-round home win over Vermont.
Curry, a defender, returns to the program this season after competing in 2019 and 2021, earning first-team All-Ivy League recognition both seasons. Curry has a goal and four assists over 34 games played during those two seasons.
Estes, a midfielder, has played the last two seasons, logging time in 30 games and scoring three goals while assisting on five others.Â
Hart, a midfielder and a 2022 captain, missed all last season due to injury and has competed in two seasons for Princeton, in 2019 and in 2021, when she earned All-Ivy honorable mention. Hart has three goals and six assists over 29 games played during those two seasons.Â
Wiese, a defender, competed during the 2019, 2021 and 2022 seasons, playing in 40 games and earning her first career assist last season.
