April 06, 2023 | Men's Rowing - Lightweight
PRINCETON – The No. 1 Men's Lightweight Rowing Team welcomes No. 9 Dartmouth and Delaware to Lake Carnegie on Saturday (Apr. 8).
It's been a wonderful start to the 2023 season for the Tigers as they have corralled a collection of cups in the Murtaugh Cup, Fosburg Cup and Campbell Cup. Princeton regained the Murtaugh Cup over No. 5 Navy by 4.6 seconds after falling to the Midshipmen last year. Princeton beat Columbia's 1V (the defending national champion), 2V and 3V (both Eastern Sprint Champions in 2022) as well. Princeton's 1V has won each race by at least four seconds.
Last week, Princeton dropped Columbia by 5.2 seconds. The Tigers' second varsity also earned a victory (5:48.2) by 5.7 seconds while the third varsity collected a 5:58.6, 3.4 seconds ahead. In the afternoon, The Tigers' 1V also collected a 5.7-second win over MIT (5:43.7) while Mercyhurst rounded out the field (5:53.4). Princeton's 2V corralled almost a 13-second decision (5:45.9) over MIT (5:58.2) while the 3V also won (6:02.3) over Penn (6:07.2) and MIT (6:21.0).
