No. 1 Men's Lightweight Rowing Earns Diamond Challenge Cup
April 08, 2023 | Men's Rowing - Lightweight
PRINCETON – The No. 1 Men's Lightweight Team secured three victories over Dartmouth, earning the Diamond Challenge Cup on Lake Carnegie on Saturday.
The Tigers' 1V earned a seven second victory (6:00.6) over Dartmouth (6:07.6) while Delaware came across at 6:34.2. Princeton's 2V crossed the line at 6:02.8, almost five seconds in front of the Big Green (6:07.6). The third varsity also corralled a decision (6:23.2) over Dartmouth (6:26.0).
The Big Green's four varsity raced out to a 6:55.6 over Princeton (7:04.3).
"We are very happy for the seniors that got wins in their last race on Carnegie," said Princeton head coach Marty Crotty. "We had some seniors sprinkled across the top three crews today and in each one of those races they were able to show great poise to lead their crews to victories in Carl Borsotti, Aaron Chaffee, Thomas Pries, Tim Scheuritzel, Peter Skinner, George Middleton, John High, George Dickinson and Ethan Abraham. This class has been great all year building a culture about selflessness and consistency and I thought that showed today against some tough Dartmouth crews.
