No. 7 Women's Water Polo Continues CWPA Action On The Road

PRINCETON – The No. 7 Women's Water Polo heads on the road this weekend to take on the No. 14 Harvard Crimson and No. 20 Brown Bears.
Princeton plays No. 14 Harvard in Cambridge at 10 a.m. on Saturday before heading to Providence to battle No. 20 Brown at 4 p.m.
Jovana Sekulic was recently named to the Cutino Award Watch List this week. The Peter J. Cutino Award, named in honor of the late Hall of Fame coach, recognizes the best player in men's and women's college water polo.
Sekulic has paced the Tigers with 65 goals and 70 drawn ejections this season. She's shooting 65.7 percent and has added 18 steals and eight assists. She has scored 13 hat tricks and has registered at least two goals in 20 of her 21 games in 2023. She has 139 goals in her career in 48 games.
Shanna Davidson was recently named the CWPA Rookie of the Week after scoring six goals and four assists in the team's four games last week. She scored twice vs. No. 17 Wagner and had a hat trick vs. Bucknell along with four steals. The freshman also had three points vs. Saint Francis as well. It was the second weekly honor for Davidson.
Davidson is one of seven Tigers with at least 20 goals along with Kayla Yelensky (41), Kaila Carroll (29), Kate Mallery (24), Rachael Carver (24) and Annie Robinson (22). Carver's 66 assists are the most in single season in program history, topping Helen Meig's 65 helpers in 2009 while her 80 points overall lead the Tigers.
Lindsey Lucas picked up her seventh CWPA weekly honor this week after being named Defensive Player of the Week. She contributed 50 saves in the Tigers' four wins along with .602 save percentage. She added 17 stops vs. No. 17 Wagner along with 15 saves vs. Bucknell. Lucas also had six saves vs. Saint Francis along with 12 more stops vs. No. 13 Michigan. Lucas has picked up a weekly honor in all but one week that Princeton has played. For the season, Lucas is 21-2 with a .589 save percentage.
