Fillier, Coene, Monihan Named Captains for 2023-24 Season

Sarah Fillier, Mia Coene and Kate Monihan will wear the C for the Princeton women's hockey team for the 2023-24 season, a trio of captains that include two rising seniors in Fillier and Monihan and a rising junior in Coene.

Fillier, a 2022 Olympic gold medalist, two-time IIHF world champion and a 2023 IIHF silver medalist, will enter her second season wearing the C. Fillier stands fourth in program history in career assists, with 88, and is on track to become just the second player in program history with 100-plus helpers. Her 151 career points are tied for ninth in program history, and Fillier could become just the fourth player in program history with a 200-point career. Her 63 goals stand 15th in program history, putting her on pace to finish in the top 10 all-time.

Coene has played in 63 games over her first two seasons, scoring eight goals and adding 11 assists for 19 points in that time. Monihan, a blueliner, is set to play in her 100th career game early in the season, entering 2023-24 with 96 career games and with four goals and 17 assists for 21 points. The captain roles will be the first for Coene and Monihan with the program.
