Nicholas Bendsten of Men’s Track and Field Qualifies for NCAA Outdoor Championships

Jacksonville, FL – To highlight another great day of performances in Jacksonville for The Tiger men at the NCAA East Regionals, sophomore Nicholas Bendsten punched his ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships qualifying for the 5000m finals.
Five more Tigers had strong showings in Jacksonville throughout Friday's competition.
Bendsten qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 5000m following his 14:04.89 finish.
Earlier this season, Bendsten set a new school record for Princeton in the event, with a time of 13:35.15. To continue a record breaking season the sophomore will have the chance to make his NCAA Championship debut in Austin.
Freshman, Myles Hogan, also raced in the 5000m, finishing 22nd overall with a time of 14:07.70.
Both Casey Helm and Avery Shunneson competed in the discus throw on Friday. Helm finished with a throw of 54.95m to land in 14th, and teammate Shunneson threw for 51.37m placing 39th overall.
The thrower duo have much to be proud of following their NCAA Regional performances.
Jackson Shorten also competed in the 3000m Steeplechase, finishing in 9:03.62 to take a 26th place finish overall.
Ivy Champion Greg Foster competed in Friday's Triple Jump, finishing with a 14.64m leap to finish 41st overall and close out the Tiger men's Regional performances.

Bendsten along with Sondre and Simen Guttormsen will all compete in Austin, Texas for the NCAA Track and Field Championships hosted from June 7- June 10.
