Philadelphia, PA – The Princeton University women's track & field team concluded an outstanding weekend of competition for the 2023 Ivy League Outdoor Heptagonal Championships with three event titles won on Sunday upon Franklin Field.
Princeton finished second with 160 points, behind Harvard University who came in first with 193. Along with Princetons' event champions, the Tigers also set two, new school records via Alexandra Kelly in the Long and Triple Jump.
All year long Princeton has continued to raise the bar and prove themselves among the Ivy League and this weekends' outdoor championships was no exception.
"It's a big step forward for our program to finish a championship weekend with several individual champions, new school records, and so many new PRs among our squad, commented head coach Michelle Eisenreich.
"The key to winning championships is not just having good individual athletes but a team of great competitors. We are excited we have a young crew full of talent, but we are also losing a class of incredible seniors. We know that the young competitors on our team are capable of rising to the occasion to get closer and closer to closing the gap with Harvard. We are excited to bring a squad of women to Jacksonville for NCAA Regionals and prove that not only can we compete among the Ivy League, but the entire nation."
