Xaivian Lee Selected to Canadian U19 Men’s National Team

TORONTO – Canada Basketball recently announced its U19 Men's National Team for the upcoming FIBA U19 Men's Basketball World Cup 2023, and rising sophomore Xaivian Lee of the Princeton University men's basketball team was one of the players selected.
The FIBA U19 Men's Basketball World Cup takes place in Debrecen, Hungary, from June 24 until July 2. Canada is in Group A along with Spain (June 24), China (June 25,) and France (June 27), and all 16 teams participating will advance to the competition's final phase with a single-elimination format in place from the Round of 16 onwards.
Lee, who is coming off a 2022-23 season that saw him help the Tigers advance to the Sweet Sixteen, defeat a pair of Associated Press (AP) Top-25 opponents and win both the Ivy League Tournament and Regular Season Championships, was honored as the Ivy League Rookie of the Week on November 28, 2022. In 13.4 minutes-per-game, Lee averaged 4.8 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.9 assists. Lee scored a season-high 12 points in three different games, including the Championship Game at the London Basketball Classic on November 26, in Princeton's win over Northeastern.
