U-23 World Rowing Championships Set To Have Big Princeton Contingent

PRINCETON – All four Princeton rowing teams will be represented at the U-23 World Rowing Championships next week.
The U-23 World Rowing Championships take place July 19-23 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. It attracts up to 1000 rowers from around the world with 22 boat classes to compete in, including eight lightweight boat classes.
Emma Mirrer of the women's lightweight team will race in the lightweight women's 1x event for the United States. David Van Velden and Hidde Lycklama of the men's lightweight squad will row for the Netherlands lightweight men's 2x.
The women's crew unit will have Katherine George in the 2x race for Great Britain while Phaedra van der Molen rows for the Netherlands 4x.
Pat Long (Australia), Erik Spinka (United States) and Nick Taylor (United States) of the men's heavyweight team will represent their countries in the 8+. Theo Bell (Great Britain) races in the 4- while Marcus Chute (Great Britain) is in the 4x. Tryguve Bye Loken competes for Norway in the 2-.
