PRINCETON, N.J. - The Princeton men's soccer team is set to open its 2023 campaign at home against Rutgers on Friday, September 1 at 7 p.m. and No. 3 Duke on Monday, September 4 at 4 p.m. The Rutgers match will air on NBC Sports Philadelphia and Duke on ESPN+. After a 285 day absence, the Tigers finally return to Myslik Field at Roberts stadium to compete once again. Admission is free to all regular-season home Princeton soccer games. The Tiger's will compete against a challenging slate this season with four other preseason United Soccer Coaches Top 25 NCAA DI teams on the schedule including No. 17 Georgetown, No. 20 Cornell, No. 23 New Hampshire, and No. 25 Penn. In other exciting news, the Ivy League will host an inaugural 2023 men's soccer conference tournament. The top 4 teams in the conference will qualify for a single-elimination bracket tournament.

Men's soccer ended its 2022 season at .500 with a 6-6-4 record.

Looking Forward
The Tigers open its 2023 campaign with hosting the reigning 2022 Big Ten Tournament champions. In their last meeting, the Tigers ended its match against Rutgers in a 1-1 draw. A Princeton goal in the 76th minute from alumni Daniel Diaz Bonilla secured the tie for the Tigers and dealt Rutgers 1 out of its 6 ties of the season. Returning goalkeeper William Watson tallied 4 saves and returning players Jack Jasinski and Harry Roberts tacked on an assist each.
On Monday, the Tigers will face off against a No. 3 Duke team. Duke, undefeated thus far, has already tallied two wins against Jacksonville (8/25) and Furman (8/27).

Coach Barlow
Head coach Jim Barlow enters his 27th season as the men's soccer head coach and has accumulated 206 career wins with the Tigers. The 2021 Ivy League Coach of the Year looks to build on returning talent as well as implement the abundance of young talent that he has acquired in the offseason.

Men's soccer will travel to Loyola University Maryland to face its first road opponent of the 2023 season. Game day is Friday, September 8 and kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
