Men’s Tennis To Open Spring Season In North Carolina

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University men's tennis team opens its spring season with three matches in the state of North Carolina, with the Tigers facing NC Central and No. 21 NC State on Dec. 19 and No. 8 Duke on Dec. 21.
The Tigers take on NC Central at 11:30 a.m. ET in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, before making the short trip to Raleigh, North Carolina, to face the Wolfpack at 5:30 p.m. ET. Princeton will conclude its play for the weekend on Jan. 21 in Durham, North Carolina, against the Blue Devils.
In the final ITA rankings of 2023, the duo of Fnu Nidunjianzan and Paul Inchauspe were ranked No. 28 in doubles while Ellis Short was tabbed No. 87 in singles. Additionally, Nidunjianzan was named First Team All-Ivy League in singles last season. The Tigers finished with a 16-13 record in 2023 as Princeton looks to reclaim the Ivy League title and return to the NCAA Tournament in 2024.
The Eagles are coming off an 8-16 season in 2023. NC Central also went 3-2 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play.
No. 21 NC State features two ranked singles players, No. 52 Joseph Wayand and No. 120 Robin Catry. Wayand and Borisiouk also rank No. 13 in doubles. The No. 21 Wolfpack appeared in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in 2023 and had a 15-10 record along with a 9-3 record in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play.
Pedro Rodenas of the eighth-ranked Blue Devils is ranked No. 21 in singles, and the team of Andrew Zhang and Michael Heller check in at No. 14 in doubles. No. 8 Duke 22-7 overall and 11-1 in ACC play in 2023, a season that saw the Blue Devils advance to the Round of 16 at the NCAA Tournament.
